현대사회를 이해하는데 있어서 정주(dwelling)를 인간의 정상적이며 지배적인 상태로보던 패러다임이 사람은 물론 사물, 사상, 문화까지도 지속적으로 이동 중이며 이러한이동성의 시각을 중심에 두어야 한다는 모빌리티 턴(mobility turn)이 새로운 패러다임으로 등장하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 모빌리티 턴이 자신의 학문적 영역으로 정의하고분류하고 있는 다양한 이동의 형태들인 도시에서의 걷기, 사물 및 지식의 이동, 관광 혹은 여행, 그리고 이주와 관련된 논의들을 살펴본다. 이를 통해 모빌리티 턴의 성과와 이후 주목해야 할 지점들에 대해 주목하려 한다. 모빌리티 턴이 모빌리티라는 우산 개념아래 관련 논의들을 지속시키고 새로운 시각을 제시할 수 있는 학문적 장의 외연을 확장시킨 가운데, 한편으로는 다양한 이동성을 가로지르는 윤리적⋅정치적 문제에 대한판단을 더 이상 미룰 수 없을 때 모빌리티 담론이 고려해야 할 이동성의 복합성 그리고정주에 대한 고찰이 함께 이루어져야 함을 강조하고자 한다

In understanding contemporary society, the paradigm of dwelling as the normal and dominant state of human beings has been replaced by the mobility turn, which argues that people, objects, ideas, and cultures are constantly on the move and that the view of mobility should be centered. This study examines the various forms of mobility that the mobility turn has defined and categorized as its own academic field: walking in cities, the movement of objects and knowledge, tourism or travel, and migration. In doing so, this research discusses the achievements of the Mobility Turn and where it needs to proceed. While the Mobility Turn has expanded the field of scholarship that can continue and shed new light on relevant discussions under the umbrella of ‘mobility’, this research makes suggestions about the complexity of mobility and the need for mobility discourse to consider the ethical and political issues that cut across different forms of mobility when judgments can no longer be postponed.
